Flat top trailer hire for building materials, Sydney

What fits
- Pallets: three standard Australian pallets (1165 x 1165 mm) in a line down the deck.
- Sheet goods: 2400 x 1200 mm ply, MDF, plasterboard and fibre cement sheet lie flat with room to spare. A sheet of 17 mm ply is about 29 kg, so you can carry a big stack.
- Timber: 3.6 m lengths fit on the deck. Longer lengths can hang out the back, but anything more than 1.2 m past the rear needs a flag (and a light at night).
- Landscaping: pavers, retaining wall blocks, sleepers, and bagged soil or cement.
Watch the weight
Pavers, bricks and bagged cement add up fast. Check the weights on your invoice before you load. Two pallets of pavers at about a tonne each, plus the trailer, is about 3030 kg behind your car. Check what your car can tow.
At the yard
Most yards will forklift pallets on for you. Ask them to put the weight over or just in front of the axles. Use edge protectors under the straps on sheet goods, keep heavy items low, and bring a tarp for plasterboard, MDF or bags if there's any chance of rain. The trailer is open.
