Flat top trailer hire in Hornsby, Sydney
I hire out one trailer: a 12x7 galvanised flat top, tandem axle, 3.5 tonne ATM, built in 2025. It has steel ramps and carries its own electric brake controller, so it suits ride-on mowers, quads and side-by-sides, small machinery, pallets and building materials.
It's $108 a day, and less per day if you keep it longer. Pickup is in Hornsby on Sydney's Upper North Shore.
Bookings, payment and damage cover are handled securely through Local Trailer Hire.

The brake controller is fitted to the trailer, so your car doesn't need one. You need a 7-pin flat socket and a towbar rated for the weight you're towing. Not sure about your car? The towing page has a quick check.

Flat top, flatbed or plant trailer?
People search for this kind of trailer under a few names: flat top, flatbed, flat deck, tandem trailer or plant trailer. They mean much the same thing: an open, flat deck on two axles, rated to carry far more than a box trailer. This one is a 12x7 tandem flat top with a 3.5 tonne ATM and ramps, so it covers most of what people need a plant or machinery trailer for, as long as the load is under 2470 kg.
The big hire companies in Sydney do have flat top and plant trailers, but they're mostly in Blacktown, Botany or further west. If you're on the Upper North Shore, in the Hills District, on the Northern Beaches or up the M1 towards the Central Coast, Hornsby is a much shorter trip.

Pickup in Hornsby
The trailer is picked up and returned in Leighton Place, Hornsby, close to the Pacific Highway and the M1. I send the exact address through Local Trailer Hire after you book. Most hirers come from around Hornsby, Asquith, Waitara, Wahroonga, Berowra, Pennant Hills, Cherrybrook, Dural and Castle Hill, but plenty come from further across Sydney.
